Can someone help me learn the difference between a few devices? PS TV, Nexus player and Chromecast?

This items have appeared on some Christmas wish lists in my family and I'm confused as to what they are and ultimately what they can do. Will buying all 3 cancel each other out? Are there large overlapping features that all of them can do?

So far what I do know:

PS TV: Allow streaming from the PS4/VITA to any TV in the house if I'm not mistaken.

Chromecast: Netflix? I'm honestly not sure if that's all it can do.

Nexus Play: Sounds like the PS TV, but for Android stuff.

Can someone perhaps clear some of the confusion up? If there's lots of overlapping features, what would the core use of each device be that the others can't do?

Thanks in advance.
