Hey everyone, I've been given on old ugly desk with metal body. I'm thinking of keeping the wood top, scrapping the body and adding pipe for legs/body like so many other users have done in the past. I was thinking of using 1" black steel since it seems to be pretty cheap (I'm a poor college kid) but should be able to do the job. My question is if black steel is really the best option and where to find the best deals on pipes and fittings. Thanks!
