Looking to replace my Verizon wifi router. Where should I look for routers to replace it? Fastest, strongest, and cheapest internet preferrable

Title. My internet sucks and I need a new router. Where should I look? Also, really dumb questions, but I know next to nothing about computers/routers: Do I need a PC Tower for wireless internet? Currently ours is connected to a ~20 year old PC Tower. Could this be the cause of my slow internet? If so, How do I fix it?
