A warning to anyone in the UK to avoid insuring your gadgets with Gadget Cover


I have sent my phone in twice for repairs now and I have just received it back with nearly all the same faults still present.


I first sent my phone (HTC One M8) in to be repaired back in November and after nearly 3 weeks of me asking repeatdly where my phone was and to be told I would be called back and never was I eventually received it back.


Firstly the front charging/notification light was suddenly appearing out of 4 of the speaker holes instead of one.


Anyone who owns a HTC will know that this isn't supposed to happen and it's actually only supposed to emit light from one of those holes.


Secondly the front camera lense was absolutely scratched to hell making it unusable.


The HTC One M8 also has two camera lenses on the back and uses them both to take photos. When you cover one of the lenses with your finger or anything it comes up on the screen warning you its blocked. The phone they sent me back comes up with this message even when it isn't being blocked and so when I try to take photos I cant see the screen because this message keeps appearing.


Worst of all however was the screen. They had failed to fit the screen back in properly and it was so bad that I could actually get a large pin between the screen and the actually phone itself. Exhibit A Exhibit B


Naturally I was furious and sent an email back with my complaints and I was told I would have to send in my phone again and was told by a employee that "it sounds like you will be issued a replacement phone" so after many hours thinking and a phone call to Citizens Advice I reluctantly sent the phone back.


I recieved it today and was finally planning on thanking my lucky stars this was over but sadly my happiness is short lived. The only thing they have done is remove the scratches from the front camera lens but now the camera is taking blurry and out of focus pictures. They have also fixed the screen at the bottom but now the screen is not flush at the top of the phone and if you run a finger nail down the front you can clearly feel quite a large ridge where the screen should sit into the phone. Oh also they havent touched the front light and the rear camera is still saying it's blocked.


I am so sick and tired of this and I am not one to usually make rant posts but I feel this is unacceptable. I never missed an insurance payment and I had this company recommended from moneysavingexpert.com


I hope this serves as a warning to others to be careful before you insure your items with anyone.
