Hey /r/DIY, is there anyone out there who can help me with my backyard putting green?

I just bought a new house that has a back yard putting green. The former owner of the house was an older man who did not keep up with the maintenance of the green and now it needs some work. It looks like it is made out of some high quality astro turf type material, but there is moss growing through it as well as some other vegetation.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can repair/improve it? My wife wants me to rip it out and seed grass there but I would like to try and fix it before I remove it.
