Help! My laminate floor is coming apart
I installed the floor myself 10 monts ago with my brother who is a carpenter. I've installed quite alot of laminate floors so im pretty experienced. We did everything by the book, correct distance and no shortcuts in any way.
But in the last months my floor has been moving ALOT , its coming together and its getting pushed up as you can see in picture 1 : http://ift.tt/1MuirHL
Its also moving apart like in picture 2 : http://ift.tt/1NA32kv
Picture 3 is an overview picture but you can clearly see something is happening in all the connecting parts : http://ift.tt/1MuitPO
My floor is a total of approx 80m2 in one big connected bit, then separated by an aluminum list to the floor that goes into the hallway. The floor is supposed to handle this big of a surface without problems according to the store.
Overview of my house : http://ift.tt/1NA34c3
For those who do not speak Norwegian
Stue = Living room Spisestue = Dining area Kjøkken = Kitchen Gang = Hallway
In the kitchen there's an island in the middle so that floor is never coming up again, unless i dismantle everything which is not an option.
There are floor heating cables under the laminate floor.

I need help with my rising mower. Since the second time I used it, it's been extremely hard to crank.
The first time I used the mower was the first time I mowed the grass at my new home just 2 days after moving in. I didn't know the yard and the grass was high. I ended up running over a small stump. In my research yesterday, thanks to the post that made the front page on repairing mowers, I think my problem may be that the mower jumped time when the blades hit the stump. So today, I took the cover off and while looking down at the flywheel, it looks to me like something is "off." It looks like the keyway is slightly right of center (or left, depending how you're looking at it). If I'm right, is this the reason that it's so hard to get cranked every time? It literally takes almost 30 minutes every time I mow to get it cranked. I'll have to connect battery cables to my truck to keep the battery on the mower strong enough to finally crank it. Pics are in the first comment. What do you guys think?
Riding mower. Not rising.

Want to fit a wet room. Have a tiled concrete floor. I'll need to remove the tiles and a 50mm later of concrete to fit the wet room tray (gives a steady 2% gradient to tile over)..
Best method?
I was thinking score it like a pizza with an angle grinder to 50mm depth and then hitting the crap out of it with a sledge hammer.
That seems like it might work. Would it? Is there a better way? Don't mind renting tools.

Exterior door won't close
I moved into a new home with a walkout basement. After moving in I noticed there was a lot of daylight coming through the door. Installed some flashing around the door and while it fixed the daylight issue, now the door is extremely hard to close. I have to put all of my bodyweight into it in order to get the deadbolt latched. And the latch on the door knob doesn't even get far enough to work. I'm thinking a new door might be the only solution. Unless anyone has suggestions?

Hello! I've tried googling the question but I couldn't quite find what I wanted. I've got a wall mounted cabinet like this and I'm turning into an art project of sorts. What I'm trying to do is, when you open it by pulling the right hand door open, the left hand door opens in tandem.

[Help] How to Secure a Sliding Glass Door?
I have two giant sliding glass doors in my house, in which both sides can be opened. To help visualize this for you if you opened both of them halfway you would have a square of window. I feel dumb because I just realized the security risk after 3 years (and one break in). Both sides are locked and the inside tracks have a 2x4 for extra security, but I have no idea how to lock the "outside" door. I have google'd around but it doesn't seem like these are very common (most have one door that is stationary). So I am asking the help to DIY to see if there are any suggestions? I can't think of anything that will not significantly impede the functionality of the doors.

Whenever I see repurposed furniture into litterbox stations I get really excited, so in that spirit here is my attempt
caption Because this is my first actual post with pictures, I honestly have no idea what I'm doing or how to make it so my album has captions, so I'll just go through the steps on here. I first bought an old crappy veneer hutch off kijiji for 25 bucks. I gave it a light sand, than used the Zinsser BullsEye primer to cover it. I did 2-3 coats (some areas had more stains that needed covering.) Then I painted a flat black overtop, again, 2-3 coats. Then I polyurethaned it, used the miniwax non-oil stuff, coating it with a sponge, lightly sanding in between. I took off the pressboard from the back and glued wallpaper to it, so it would have some visual interest. I used the old hardware and just spray painted it with rustoleum silver paint and primer for metal. I did most of the work in my parking stall after work and it took me about 2 weeks to complete. I put an baking soda fridge refresher inside, and use a high quality litter. My cat Nerm's been using it for about 2 weeks now, and seems to like it just fine. Had to buy a smaller box, but it didn't seem to bother him. The whole project costed me around 65 bucks. It's in my living room, and while most people might think that's gross, I live in an apartment, and I clean it twice a day, so I haven't noticed it smelling badly... Anyways, thanks for inspiring me reddit! I always get excited when I see peoples repurposed deluxe cat litter box furniture!

Anyone have tips, tricks or knowledge on building L-shaped desks?
I currently have a desk for gaming with dual-monitors and my Xbox one and 360 on it. The desk is the Ikea FREDDE model both monitors and the One sit on the small middle shelf. What I'm looking to do is to keep the same style of desk minus the top shelf but then make it into an L-shaped desk. I would like to build the desk with space for cable management underneath the desk along with the small riser shelf to place monitors and a tv. Need help finding a lever/valve mechanism for a school project
I'm trying to help my son with a school project. He wants to build a candy dispenser. It will be gravity fed, fall through a tube, then come out the bottom of the tube. At the tube, he wants some kind of lever or valve to let the user open and close it to dispense candy.
We looked at some plumbing valves, and they do the trick, but they're all somewhat hard to manage easily with one hand. Any suggestions? He's not picky about how much candy comes out at once, or exactly the type of lever/valve. I did some searching online, and came up empty.
Any suggestions? Is there a site somewhere that sells things like this for home inventors?
Thanks!

Hi guys I’m looking for the perfect headset. I’ve been looking really hard and can’t seem to find one with all of the features that I want. I was hoping someone could recommend me a gaming headset with the following features: • Over the ear • Wireless • Retractable microphone • You know, decent or better sound quality and mic quality for gaming • Looks physically nice (I’m a girl btw) Price range really doesn't matter. I would be willing to pay a lot if I can really find the perfect headset. The closest thing I found was the Axent cat ear headset on kickstarter except it’s not wireless

Refinished a mid-century table I got for $40 off CL ( cross post from R/NewAgain )
Got this table off of CL knowing it needed to be refinished. My wife and I proceeded to strip the table using Citristrip to get to bare wood on the table top. Since the legs are round I opted to just sand those. Since I had read that maple is a notoriously blotchy wood to stain and we wanted to color match the chairs that came w the table (even though we intend on replacing them) we used a pre stain wood conditioner to ensure we get as even a coat as possible when staining. About an hour after the prestain went on we started staining. We used a product called "Ipswich Pine" wipe on stain by Minwax. We put 4 coats of the stain and let it dry for about 24 hours. After stain it was finally time for polyurethane. I removed the apron and legs unit from the table top for this process to try and get a more even coat applied. My wife and I collaborated on this part of the project and applied 2 coats of poly with a light sanding between coats. We are really happy w the results and got a cool table for pretty cheap. We also enjoyed the process and learned a lot which should come in handy in the future. Sorry we didn't take pictures of the entire process. Here's the ones we did take though.

Some years ago my parents got a new bathroom cabinet for our house that we never got around to installing. Well the time has come and now i have no idea how to mount this thing to the wall. It does not have a stand, and no mounting brackets were provided. I have taken it out of the box and the only thing i see on the back are two metal pieces in the upper corners, but i do not think they would successfully support its weight (its weight is over 18 kilograms).

I assume i should buy some type of brackets, but i have no idea what. It's being mounted on a tile wall.
Any and all help is appreciated.

Help Request - Putting non-slip paint on concrete steps. How do I prepare the steps?
We recently removed the carpet from the front steps of our house. We'd like to put some non-slip/traction style paint on the steps. However, I have never really worked with concrete so I don't know what I need to do to prep the area.
Here is a picture of the steps as they are currently. As you can see, there is still some paint in the corners and on the front of the steps, and there also appears to be adhesive still on the steps (or it could also be the concrete is textured, I'm not sure.
What do I need to do? Do I need to sand/buff the steps down before I throw on the non-slip paint? If so, what equipment will I need? Since I only own a little hand sander, will it be cheaper to post something on our local handy man classified sites looking for an hour or two of work from someone, or should I go to the rental store and rent a bigger buffer?
Does anyone have any advice?

[Help] Damaged wall (plasterboard?)
Hello, I live in privately rented property and accidentally bashed into the wall. The damage can be seen in the pics.
So.... is this a redo the whole wall job? My landlord's gonna be angry! On another note, I've got the feeling this has happened before because there are really "weak" patches, all over this particular wall. Not sure if it's damp or what, but if you gently apply pressure to some sections, it feels weak and fragile.
Anyway, just wanted people's thoughts as to what can be done to gather what kind of damage I've done as I know absolutely nothing about this kind of thing. Cheers.
