We're looking at buying a house that would need some work. We're making a detailed list of what we'd like done and ideally we'd be able to designate that we can do a b c easy stuff ourselves, and hire a contractor for x y z. It's the k l m stuff in the middle I'm concerned about. I know I can paint, I know I can't extend the septic lines to add a second bathroom. But can I lay tile? Properly close up the chimney after the woodstove is removed?
Where do you go for resources to figure out whether a project is something you can handle?
