Thanks for reading. My goal is to put down sod in my whole backyard, for some reason my backyard is full of weeds and sparsely littered with actual grass. My front yard has wonderful grass mainly because when we first moved in I had it replaced.
My problem though is that I don't know how to dig up the backyard to put down new sod. Since the backyard is mainly a think layer of grass and weeds before I get to dirt, what would be the best way to go about taking a couple inches off to replace with grass? Also is a couple inches the amount that one would need to take off?
