My Jaguar X-Type started smoking more than usual so I thought I would carry out some 'in-depth' maintenance to help it along. I didn't plan on submitting this to /r/DIY so bare with me if the pictures do not say everything, I will try my best to explain. Although it was a fairly easy job.
Tools needed:
- Pliers
- Flat head screwdriver
- 8mm Ratchet
- 10mm Ratchet
- Carb/Brake cleaner, if not petrol works well as a cleaner (Be careful obviously)
- Degreaser (Not essential, just helps with the cleaning)

Mistakes not to make:
- The little indents on the air intake clip into slots on the air box, so when pop them of make sure that you pull that part up and away, otherwise you will snap the plastic. - Shown in the 5th picture.
- Take care not to drop anything down the intercooler pipe or down in the engine, you will have to fish it out otherwise.
- I've heard of people having problems with the jubilee clip rusting. If that happens and you can't get it off, removing the bumper and cutting it is the next step.
