Wood to wrought iron fence, advice and recommendations.

I have a wrought iron fence in my backyard. And instead of bushes I want some planks to go up for complete privacy. http://ift.tt/1JqdLwa Additionally, I cant tell in the reference but I assume I need a support metal beam going across the middle? Or could I just screw one wood plank for each the vertical iron bar?
