My wife and I will soon be on opposite sides of the globe for about 8 months and as much as we love each other, long distance relationships are hard. Luckily I have a great idea for a project to help make this easier for us, but unluckily I no idea how to pull it off, please help.

I saw a while back that a company had begun working on a "long distance relationship pillow." In a nut shell, when one person would hug a pillow another pillow would remotely light up so that when they both lit up it would be like the couple was together and cuddling. Unfortunately the company ended up developing the product to go in a different direction. This concept is perfect for us though. I've put a lot of thought into it, but this is my first diy project and I'm lost. I'll I know is that I'd need some sort of battery powered light that can safely be operated inside a pillow for long intervals, and a way of turning on the light remotely (there has to be an app that allows me to do this through an Internet connection but I can't find it). In truth turning on the light remotely by hugging a pillow seems like it would be either out of my abilities or out of my price range so I'd be willing to settle for turning on the light via a mobile app of some sort just before hugging the pillow rather than the preferred option of hugging a pillow to remotely turn on my partners pillow. I know that's not much but that's all I have, I'm lost but this is really important to me. It goes without saying that your help would mean a great deal to both myself and my wife. Also this would prove a good project for other couples undergoing similar circumstances. Thank you!
