Hey all. I am trying to mount these LED strips on the back of my TV and having some issues. They came with 3M strips on their backs, but the heat of the TV and their own weight makes them fall off pretty easily. I have tried adding some GorillaTape and then some Aluminum Foil Tape because it withstands the heat pretty well, or so I am told.
You can see it currently here: http://ift.tt/1LQBEhK
My question is this...Is this safe to do? I know the tapes are rated for heat well over 150 degrees Fahrenheit, and considering the tape is usually used for duct work, I assume there are no breathing hazards or anything with the adhesive...am I correct? I'd like to leave this as is if this is acceptable and not going to kill me or burn down my apartment building, but if it's horrible I am always open to new methods to do this...or I can scrap it totally, I am at my wit's end with this honestly.
The images aren't great, but it does a good job of showing the tape on the LED strips behind the TV, which is really the entire project.
Thanks for any help, guys and gals!
