Damp insulation in garage

Earlier this year I installed some R19 batt insulation in my garage roof and walls. I use the garage as a workshop and den for my Friday night poker games. I live in Upstate NY, so bitter cold winters, hot humid summers. Today was an unseasonably warmer day and I happened to walk into the garage and discovered that all the insulation I installed along the roof joists was soaking wet at the top. This is an unheated space, and the only soffets on the side of the house is 1 small vent grill on either side of the house. I did not install baffels under the insulation or a vapor barrier.

I'm going to hop up on a ladder and cut out the insulation that is wet. Google searches don't seem to indicate any specific way to fix this. Should I simply cut out the insulation along the ridge vent and leave that open so air can circulate out, or should I completely remove the insulation I installed and install baffels? Should I install a vapor barrier?
