DIY Basement Nightclub lighting/decorations ideas

Hey guys,

I sometimes throw parties in my basement but there's a distinct lack of ambience. I have a DJ play and would like to know if anybody has any ideas for cheap DIY decorations or lighting that gives a bit of atmosphere.
