I just installed a replacement Fluidmaster W43LS fill valve.
I thought everything was going well, but as I neared what I thought would be completion, I noticed water seemed to be leaking from both the top of the pipe (from under the cap assembly) and near the bottom.
I have had the "new" fill valve sitting in my garage for several years (maybe 6-7). I hadn't used it previously, it was just a leftover valve I had planned to use previously but never opened.
I am guessing maybe the leaking at the top has to do with the gasket under the cap, although I did flush debris as instructed, and the gaskets appear to be in good condition.
On the other hand, I'm really stumped about the water movement I'm seeing around the base of the fill pipe.
I will try to get a couple of pictures and add them.
