How do I reconnect my phone?

I've just had a new front door fitted but there was a wire that ran through the door frame that went to a connector block on the inside. This had to be disconnected as it was mounted on the frame that was going to be removed, neither the fitters nor I knew what it was.

It turned out to be a BT 20/4 connector box from the late 50s (old house). It looks like my phone line was going through this and I get my Internet over my phone line. I'm posting this via a hotspot created from my phone. It's a simple connector block with 4 screws either side, the problem is the fitter just disconnected it without opening it up and seeing how it was connected first. As far as he was concerned it wasn't his problem, he was just there to do the door.

So now I've got to reconnect this thing but I don't know how it was supposed to be done. I've got ancient wire in the form of 2x cables, each with 2x wires at one end and a modern colour coded phone cable on the other. How do I do this? Any advice appreciated!
