Need an Android tablet for YouTube consumption

Hey all,

I was waiting for the "new Nexus" for months, but the Nexus 9 is a bit of a disappointment. I'm in the market for an Android tablet, but my main use case is hours of YouTube streaming on the corner of my hobby desk, while I'm cooking, while I'm in the garage, etc. So, a good screen and good speakers are a must.

I've been eyeing the Nvidia Shield, it seems great, but I've read reports that the speakers are quiet... can anyone confirm or deny?

I love the video quality of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S, but the speakers are on the side... do they work well?

I know Sony now has the Z3 out, but it's a pricey mother.

So... what are my other options? Thanks!
