Anyone experienced with outdoor LED strip lighting along a soffit?

Have been wanting to add lighting to the front of my house, originally looking at cans, though LED strips seem like a really cool way for continuous light across the front of my house. My goal is to power these on/off via a regular/in wall dimmer switch. I've been researching a bit (e.g. Google-Fu) differences between 12 vs 120v, and am also trying to find a product that actually looks 'finished'. All the aluminum channels + frosted covers look OK, though low-profile is key. I'll also need to make 2x 90 degree turns. Anyone have experience with this? 120v seems like the good way to go for the length I'm planning (~50'), though all seem to come with a plug where I'd have to splice into romex. Is this OK (to code) to do?

On the 120v side, the only relevant product I've found is something like this though it does not seem to allow for cutting in 90 degree turns.

On the 12v side I've found this, though am not sure as far as code compliance/how to wire to a light switch.

Anything else to look out for as far as code compliance? Any other product recommendations? Appreciate the help.
