I would like to add a couple of counters to my furnace or thermostat. Overall this seams like it should be incredibly easy as long as I don't care how it looks. Here's what I would like to do:
Number of times "on". Every time the furnace comes on, increment by 1.
Number of minutes (or seconds) "on". Whenever the furnace is running, increase the counter.
Allow me to reset these counters manually.
My goal here is to see how changes within the house (e.g. running the fireplace, adding fans to gently circulate the air, etc.) change the heating cycles.
I don't need anything crazy. It's a 24-volt system and I have to expect that there are counters out there I could introduce to the system.
Anybody ever done this? Where should I start?
