HELP: I've torn a small hole in the wall and need to repair before landlord inspects for damage

It's nothing major. I had a 3M hook that I took off the wall incorrectly and it took some paint/wall with it. Do I just need to find some matching paint? Why does it look like brown cardboard undrneath? I'm really bad with home repair. Photo
