Non-permanent, non-destruction soundproofing to keep noise IN my room/house, and away from the neighbours.

Hello. I was speaking with my new neighbour and apparently my bedroom is literally right beside hers, and sound apparently penetrates through while I'm watching youtube videos at night. She wasn't complaining, just mentioning so I guess it might be a bit annoying sometimes. I don't know how the walls were built and I'm living in a rental place.

Also, I have a cat that can be a bit too loud sometimes.

So, do hanging things like acoustical foam that have >1 NRC on my wall work to cover up MY sound? I'm planning to buy door sweeps for all my doors of the 2 bedroom apartment as well. Can eggcrates actually prevent sound from leaking OUT? Like I said, I don't mind (and I don't hear) the neighbours at all, I'm trying to be less of a nuisance. Thanks!
