Im doing a full room gut in order to replace electrical, insulation, new drywall walls, new dry wall ceiling, new light fixtures, and new carpet.
Got the old carpet up, took the old paneling down(walls), and hit a snag at the ceiling. Can anyone tell me what this specifically is?
I thought it was a cement board that i could just pull off like sections of drywall. However, when i started breaking into it, it almost looks like the wire was affixed to the beams, before the concrete?plaster? was put on.
Any suggestions on what this is? And how to efficiently remove it? Could really use some advice.
The house was built in 1960 and has a flat roof if that information is relevant.
