I sent in a ticket to Asus a couple days ago and no answer. Bought it about a month and a half ago at Walmart before I left to go back over the road.
It's a Asus X551M so it's a budget laptop and all I needed at the moment.
But anyhow, I was getting ready to stand up off of my couch and I grab the bottom of the laptop with both hands on the left and right and I get a ZAAP thru my left hand right under where the Ethernet plugs in. It left me in a moment of WTF just happened and just sat there for a moment with my hand curled up in front of my face. I had my laptop plugged in to power and also had the Ethernet plugged in. ALSO, the Ethernet stopped working when i got zapped so I go on Wifi to download drivers and had to re install the Ethernet drivers over and over and no luck. Finally I let it rest about a half hour to cool down and the Ethernet started working again.
But I tell you, this SHOCK I got from it, kicked my ass lol and I'm a 39 year old man! I've come down to that IMHO that it was the screw under the laptop that may be next to something sending some voltage thru it. Who knows. But I sent Asus a ticket about it on the 31st first thing on the morning and I haven't heard anything from them at all. They even say they would get in touch within 48 hours. It's been over.
I'm tired of having to get on my laptop with oven mitts.
Has anybody else has this problem?
