Hello ppl. need advice. my old sony walkman served me well for more than 4-5 years. now the battery is getting real weak and i need to charge it every 7-8 hours. was looking for a new one and they don't come cheap. my phone is also ancient and could use a upgrade. so i was thinking to combine my needs into one device. i am looking at windows lumia 640 xl. especially like extra storage option via micro card and really good battery. also has nice big screen and i could read ebooks on it. seems good value for that money.
i dont use my phone much....in fact hardly ever. do use my walkman every day. so good sound, storage and battery life is really important. i never had a smartphone, so dont know if it can compare to dedicated music player? can i instal say winamp or vcl and put in headphones, dim the screen to conserve battery and play it for days like i can with sony walkman? is this a good idea or should i just buy a new walkman? was looking at ipod touch is nice and all, but compared to walkman it has piss poor battery life.
what say you?
