Hi, DIY - please have a look at this album. It's an old sign that my grandfather painted, probably back in the 1930s (he was a commercial artist at the time, and this is one of his few remaining pieces). It was used to identify their Maine summer home for a number of years, then moved to my parents' living room for my whole life.
I included a close-up so you can see how cracked and weathered it's become. I'd love to be able to stop the paint from aging further, so I can pass it on to my son in time. However, it's so aged and chalky at this point that I think any brush-on treatments would make things worse very quickly.
Would love some specific product/process recommendations. Thanks!
