So ive been a lurker on Reddit for quite some time, but nothing compelled me to ever write on here, i just enjoyed reading and browsing.
But recently i took my Girlfriends Apple watch that i bought for her as a present back to the apple store after the Pink Leather band had turned from a nice pink (if you like pink) to a rather dull beige. Now i had only purchased this watch 2 months ago with the Strap, and to be honest, she doesnt wear it that often, not often enough for the price it costs. Girls ey :D But anyway, i got quite annoyed at the rate at which the strap had faded, and it wasnt due to dirt and grime, even under the buckle where it is protected from the elements the watch strap had faded. Being an unimpressed consumer, i took it back to the apple store where one of the staff said i would not be issued a replacement strap. After a few firm words i managed to get a manager out, who was somewhat passive aggressive. I seemed to get the impression that he assumed it was my fault! I returned the passive aggressive energy and he started to roll out the "we source all the best materials" blurb. Before he could get much further i pointed out if its so good why is it no longer the same colour. For those interested this is a £200 watch strap.
Eventually he gave up and agreed to replace the band for free! But just as a warning to all, this is something that could happen to your leather strap too! I would advise keeping it safe in the dark, and using a sport strap and never getting it out ever!!!!
Photo for comparison, im noob and no idea how to upload photo. If i even can :P
Please let me know of any other forums this may benefit :)
