Hanging a heavy bag through drop ceiling

Hello All,

I have a drop ceiling in my basement with wood beams just above it. My goal is to mount a heavy bag mount on a beam and then have the bag itself hang through a neat hold in the ceiling using something like this - http://ift.tt/21RixeR

My issue is that I don't have the light housing that the trim piece usually connects with. Are there any alternative ways to achieve this or do I just need to screw hooks into the beam?
