Ideas for cutting legs down on this chair

I've got these two metal chairs at my countertop: http://ift.tt/21R6G0p

I want to make both of them about 2" shorter. So I'm planning on just cutting down the legs then adding rubber caps on the ends and felt tips or something. My question is about the best way to cut them down. The chairs look copper, but I'm sure they're not. I think they're just metal with a copper-looking finish on them. I suppose I could use my jig saw, I'd just need to be accurate with it, that thing likes to jump around as I'm sure y'all are aware.

Any other ideas? Thanks.
