I am looking for opinions on where I should go with my backsplash. I will be using subway style slate 3x5 tiles. I am debating between just replacing the existing backsplash or going up the wall above the sink. If i go up the wall above the sink, what should I do once i get above the cabinet level? Should I continue to just go vertically and put some sort of termination edge like a schlueter strip of sorts? Should i tile that entire wall above the cabinets?
There will be a shelf in the area where the green paint hits the white ledge above the tile, just above the sink. Not sure about the shelf yet either. Leaning toward some sort of tempered glass solution in my mind. And we have a somewhat contemporary 3 light fixture to go on the wall. There will a new slim line stainless sink and solid surface countertop matched with all the recent changes including the backsplash tiles.
Any opinions are greatly appreciated.
