Toy Box.. lettering

I wanted to make a toy box for my son, who is only 5 months old, so I have some years before he appreciates it, But i wanted to make something like this:

and wanted to know how i would go about the lettering.. is this a router and a jig? Wondering how best to achieve some simple wording on a box.
