Best way to learn how to remodel

My wife and I bought our first house last year. The laundry room is unfinished and was originally designed to be a laundry room / 3/4 bathroom type of space. I have come up with a set up for how I would like to finish the room, but the estimates we've gotten from a couple different contractors that have looked at it range from $12,000-$18,000 and with a baby on the way there is no way we can afford that right now so I'd like to go the DIY route. Problem is I've never hung up drywall, installed wiring and plumbing, put in flooring, etc. The only thing I've really done that will be useful here is installing a ceiling light and painting walls.

What is the best way to learn how to do all this stuff if I don't have anyone to show me? What are some of the best resources (books or Youtube maybe)? And lastly, what is the likelihood I'll actually be able to pull it off if I try to learn all of this on my own?
