Making a desk and try to figure out how

I'm trying to make a big l shaped desk for basically everything in my room. I have steel pipes and flat steel bar that I am going to make the legs out of( I'm welding the aforementioned bar to the pipes so it's like a flange that I can put on the wood.). So I have my legs sorted but I'm just having trouble with the desk top. Right now after looking into it I believe that I will get 2 pieces of plywood and some how attach them together to form a l shape 65 inches in one direction and 84 inches in the other 24 inches wide. But I'm not sure and I don't want to do anything until I'm sure can anyone tell me if this will work or help me if it won't.

Ps: I have a bandsaw, maybe a circular saw or table saw, and hand tools but am on a limited budget. That's why I'm making my own legs.
