Hello, /r/DIY! After a long (1 year plus) home renovation, my garage and tools were a mess. Tools all over the house, my old organization from the last house long gone. That needed to change.
The only thing in the house in great shape was this simple workbench in the garage. Made from only 2x4s and 2x6s, with a 1x4 lower shelf, I have used this bench all year long and have been really impressed with its sturdiness. So I modeled my new bench in the exact same style so I could turn the small bench into a much larger expanded L bench.

I bought the 2x6 boards cut at 6' on discount, and the 2x4s were precut construction studs. I have thousands of screws and nails already, but still figured the cost to be about $60. Cheap, strong bench? Had to share.
