[Help] Trying to make a Raspberry Pi wireless radio with a 1960s radio box

Hey all, I've got this old FM/AM radio that my grandfather gave me about 2 years ago. It's in great condition, everything works, but I don't really listen to radio and I want to make this piece into something cool and usable.

I'm thinking of gutting the interior, putting a raspberry pi 2 in there, and making an AirPlay speaker for parties and hangout sessions. I can figure out how to get Volumio on the SD card and get everything up and running on the board; that's not the actual problem. I want to know if it's possible to have the Raspberry Pi power the speaker, and if so, what voltage/amp parameters I need to abide by. Any help would be appreciated, and if you think I should go about doing this some other please let me know, I've never actually worked with RPi before and it seems pretty intimidating haha.

TL;DR Can a raspberry pi power itself AND a speaker, and if so, how big of a speaker can it power?
