So, I've fixed my share of running toilets. Enough that I actually have a product I know and love for the job. It comes with a new flapper, ring and sealing putty.
However, one toilet in my house (of course the one that's running) has a flapper I've never seen before.
So that blue ring is attached to the "flapper" (not even sure if that's the right name for this kind of setup) and, looking at it, it seems to have a small crack in it which is what I'm assuming is causing the toilet to run. However, there is a chain in the underside, so I can't just pull the entire thing out. The entire thing lifts up only about an inch, and not sure how to remove it.
I think all I need is one of these: http://ift.tt/2b11ZB1
However, a second opinion, and some advice how to remove it to apply the sealing ring without having to take the entire unit, pump and all, which is the only way I can see doing it currently.
EDIT: BTW, it's tough to see in the picture, but the reason I say I've never seen a flapper like this, it's easily double the size of any I've seen, and it doesn't hinge. Just lifts straight up when the chain is pulled.
