Fixing snowshoe decking? (x-post /r/frugal)

I have three pairs of old Tubbs aluminum snowshoes that have perished or busted decking. Has anyone frugally fixed their snowshoe decking recently & has experience to share? Am trying to think of appropriate material that is fairly cheap...so far, teflon gasket material has been suggested...or those flexible nylon cutting boards, but neither seems quite right (well, teflon would work but it's a bit pricey, like the proper rubberized fabrics found here.

At this point, getting a yard (or some sample swatches) from the linked site or similar is most likely, but would still v much appreciate advice from anyone who has completed a similar project. Thanks!
