I installed laminate flooring in 2 bedrooms and purchased a prefinished hardwood Overlap Reducer to transition from the laminate to the actual hardwoods in the hall (height difference). I don't know if my finishing nail gun has enough power to drive through the thickness (I'll link an image below, in the event you're unfamiliar with this type of transition strip), and I'm concerned I might split it by nailing it the rest of the way in. Is there a better way to install these? It's not t-molding, so there's no rail to install and hold it in-place.
