How to sand an area with a sanding sponge that has places you can't reach?

Need to sand an area that includes small oddly-shaped areas beyond arm's reach that require a small sanding sponge. However, I can't find a sanding sponge that a pole can be attached to--only the wide, hard flat type that you attach a piece of sanding paper to the bottom and then screw in a pole. Any ideas? Edit: Thought of trying to glue a small pole to the back of the sanding sponge but I don't think it would work.
